The new game in Capcom's long-running Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series entered the software chart at number one last week.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies claimed the top spot after selling more than 250,000 units, making it one of the fastest selling 3DS titles of the year. However, the popularity of the 3DS in Japan is so high that even such a strong debut week wasn't enough to increase hardware sales, which actually fell by 5,000 units. Nevertheless, the 3DS remains the best-selling platform in Japan.
Second and third place were occupied by the Atlus RPG Dragon's Crown. As one might expect, the game's PlayStation 3 version came in ahead with almost 105,000 sales. But the Vita version also performed extremely well, selling 71,000 units to the platform's growing user-base - Vita hardware sales rose by 5,000 units as a result.
Nintendo's Pikmin 3 fell even further from the top spot it captured two weeks ago, just scraping the top ten with 14,000 sales.
